Lady Liberty

I recently learned about the symbolism of peaches in Asian art representing immortality, springtime, magic, and long life. It's Fascinating to see how this symbol has been sexualized in the US and is often associated with genitalia. Since certain symbols and expressions can be interpreted differently depending on the culture and context, i was inspired to immortalize this specific expression of Black alternative femininity that I witnessed and captured in several scenes, especially atop the skyline next to a church. It is a stunning and one-of-a-kind presence that DESERVES to be praised and uplifted, just like anything else that is truly godly. with this reimagination of the statue of liberty i ask you: in THIS WORLD'S STATE, what does it truly mean to be free?
